RS422 – RS485 are standards defining the electrical characteristics of drivers and receivers for use in balanced digital multipoint systems. Digital communications networks implementing this standard can be used effectively over long distances and in electrically noisy environments. Multiple receivers may be connected to such a network in a linear, multi-drop configuration. These characteristics make such networks useful in industrial environments and similar applications

LAN Data

A local area network is a computer network that interconnects computers in a limited area using network media. The defining characteristics of LANs, in contrast to wide area networks (WANs), include their usually higher data-transfer rates, smaller geographic area, and lack of a need for leased telecommunication lines. ARCNET, Token Ring and other technology standards have been used in the past, but Ethernet over twisted pair cabling, and Wi-Fi are the two most common technologies currently used to build LAN. Installations include utilizing CAT 5 or 6 cables depending on the required Bandwidth or whether the network requires P.O.E (Power over Ethernet).
